PROPOSITION 65 FAQ
WHAT IS CA PROPOSITION 65?
WHY HAVE WE PLACED A PROPOSITION 65 WARNING ON SOME OF OUR PRODUCTS?
Proposition 65 imposes large penalties for failing to provide a warning unless a business can prove that the presence of a listed chemical presents "no significant risk." By including a Proposition 65 warning label, Zempire acknowledges that the product may expose the user to one or more of the chemicals on the Prop 65 list. Zempire has not evaluated every product, and the listed chemical may be well within the "no significant risk" range, however, we have included these warnings out of caution.
The Proposition 65 statement is only required for goods sold in California, however, we are unable to easily separate products sold in the USA and other markets, so we have made the decision to label all products rather than risk the penalties for not complying with Proposition 65.
IS THE PRODUCT UNSAFE?
The California government has stated: “The fact that a product bears a Proposition 65 warning does not mean by itself that the product is unsafe. You could think of Proposition 65 more as a ‘right to know’ law than a pure product safety law.”
